Have you ever had the pleasure of having someone who continuously asks for your advice only to turn around and do the exact opposite of what you told them?
And low and behold, when their situation results in the exact consequences which you tried to educate them about, they will act surprised that it did. To make matters ever more aggravating is when you ask why, they’ll respond with – “Well, I didn’t know”. Of course my response is to immediately inform them they damn well did know because “I told you what would happen”.
Back before I retired from driving semi trucks for a living, I had a driver enquire about taking a more direct route to the destination we were both hauling freight to. I told this driver that if he went the way he was wanting to go, he would encounter a bridge that would not accommodate an eighty thousand pound truck pulling a fifty three foot trailer. I left our distribution hub about ten minutes after this fellow, so I had no idea if he was going to stick to the designated route or not.
About four hours into an eight hour drive, my cell phone rang. It was that other driver calling me with a huge problem. After informing him that he would encounter an impassable bridge, this dummy went that way anyhow. Sure enough, Joey Bagofdonuts was calling to tell me that sure enough he had found the bridge that I had warned him about, and he wanted to know what to do since he could not get past it.
“Well, I guess you could call the Highway Patrol and have them come to your assistance”. “Or, you could turn on your flashers, and then back your rig down the shoulder of the road until you can find a place where you can safely get it turned around”.
These people who will ask for my advice only to do exactly what I advised against, I refer to as “Ask Holes”.
Why ask for advice when you are not going to follow it anyhow?
Why become upset when you do not follow directions and the consequences turn out to be exactly what you were warned of? At David’s Way to Health and Fitness, we encounter these types pretty regular too. They will contact us for healthy weight loss advice only to get into a huff when we tell them what they do not want to hear.
It really is no wonder why ninety five percent of all dieters fail…
Dr. Kellyann’s Weight-loss Products
First off, I take exception to people using the title of Doctor when they are not a medical doctor, and to some extent when they are a PHD.
Dr. Kellyann is a not a medical doctor. From her website:
“Dr. Kellyann is a naturopathic physician and certified nutrition consultant with over 20 years of clinical experience with a mission to bring her advice to a wider audience in order to help more than just her patients”.
The use of the titles “doctor” and “physician” infers that she is able to practice medicine and is in the healing arts when in reality, she is nothing more than a “nutrition consultant”. While I understand that she is legally entitled to use the title of “doctor”, I feel it is a misleading inference to greater education and qualifications. but I digress…
I really would have never paid this lady any mind, except that I kept getting her advertisements on my Facebook and YouTube feeds. Being the inquisitive type that I am, I checked out her website to see if she was selling Snake Oil or legitimate products. It turns out the nature of her products lie somewhere in between.
“Dr. Kellyann Petrucci had a mission of bringing her advice to a wider audience in order to help more than just her patients and that mission resulted in her New York Times best selling book Dr. Kellyann’s Bone Broth Diet.” “Dr. Kellyann’s innovative diet plan took intermittent fasting, or mini-fasting as she calls it, to the masses by adding bone broth to the mix.” “The brilliance of using bone broth when fasting has made fasting, along with its bounty of benefits, an accessible health and weight loss tool for countless people.”
“Dr. Kellyann applies this same innovative approach to all her books and programs as well as her line of products.”
Herein lies the problem, while bone broth is indeed good for you, and intermittent fasting does help with weight-loss, the dieter has to stop and consider if the weight-loss will be healthy, and permanent in nature. If the diet does not provide permanent results, it fails the dieter in the end. By following her Ten Day Belly Slim Down the claim is:

The problem with the claim above is this plan is not something that you will follow for the rest of your life. With healthy weight-loss, you must also be able to maintain that loss for life. I promise, once you finish this ten day program, most of the weight that you will lose will be water weight. Water weight does not matter, you need to lose body fat. Additionally, with rapid weight-loss, along with lost body fat and water weight, you will also lose lean muscle mass which will slow down your metabolism even more than it might have been before beginning this kind of foolishness.

Yet, by using the title Dr. Kellyann, and by stating that she is a physician (naturopathic physician) the inference is that she is a doctor!
This claim of being a doctor/physician is very misleading for those who may not understand the difference between a medical doctor and a naturopathic physician. The naturopath does not practice in the healing arts but for advising you to eat foods that are good for your health. The title adds credibility and integrity where none exists in this case.

When one reads all of this crap above, it would be ever so easy to see them going to Dr.Kellyann’s website and products when maybe they should be going to an actual physician. Most people with weight problems either currently have weight and nutrition related health problems, or they will have them sometime in the future.
Yes, it might be cheaper for you to follow her nonsensical weight-loss plans while consuming her expensive products, but all that you are going to accomplish is to set back your health problems by some additional time. You are better served by seeing your physician, and a nutritionist if they feel that is necessary.
Actually, here is my best advice to you, especially if you are on a fixed or low income. Follow us here at David’s Way to Health and Fitness. For no charge whatsoever, you can access over 1275 educational articles to help you with healthy and permanent weight-loss. Begin by first reading our David’s Way Plan. I will also advise you to share the educational information that you have direct access to with your doctor before beginning our way.
Neither Brenda Sue nor myself are doctors. We are certified Nutrition Consultants. We do not give special diet plans for any illness or ailment. We do not write out cookie cutter diets for anyone, as we have been asked to many times over. We do not tell you what or when to eat.
